Our Review of the Diamondback 910lc Indoor CycleHow Easy is the Indoor Cycle to Build? As with most indoor cycles, the Diamondback 910lc is simple to assemble. A metal spacer bar is attached to the front of the bike when it’s delivered to ensure that the bottom of the frame doesn’t get bent during transit– this needs to be removed before attempting to fit the front stabiliser. When attaching the handlebars, make sure that you fully tighten the front bolt first – this aligns the handlebars and ensures that you can fit the water bottle holder. Full instructions and tools are included and if you're not sure about something then you can of course call us for advice. What are the first impressions? First and foremost this is a great looking bike. The detailing on the bike is exceptional - a great example being the Diamondback logo on the seat. OK, so this doesn't make the ride better but it does show the attention to detail that has been lavished on this bike. What's it like to ride? If the first impressions are good then it's just got even better. It's easy to find your optimum riding position because the seat and handlebars are adjustable, and when you start to ride the bike has a high quality feel - it's very smooth and very quiet. This bike has won the "Best Buy" award in the USA for 3 years in a row and when you ride it it's easy to see why. The resistance control is responsive, the console is easy to use and overall the ride is very good which is aided by the 18kg flywheel.Any niggles? The position of the console on the handlebars could be better. Being in a fixed location, close to the rider, it's almost impossible to see the readout when simulating a hillclimb. Other than that we can’t find anything at all to complain about. Anything else to add? The Diamondback 910lc has got a great range of programs which makes this bike stand out from the crowd. For those of you aren’t sure what programs will give you then let us explain – you get a choice of programs on the bike and each program has a profile (as an example, a profile may be cycling up a hill and then cycling down the other side). The bike will automatically control the resistance for you to simulate the profile that you’ve chosen (so as you cycle up hill the resistance will make it harder to cycle, and as you cycle down hill it gets easier). The programs are selected on the console and it’s really easy to use. There are some quite advanced programs whereby you can set a target heart rate and the bike will make sure that you don’t exceed this for any period of time (you have to wear a chest strap for this feature). We find that indoor cycles with programs are popular because they keep your training sessions interesting time after time. It’s also a popular feature where multiple members of the family want to use the bike (Mum attends spin classes and wants a spin style bike; Dad wants to simulate riding up and down hills)…with this bike you can have the best of all worlds.Overall Impression? Really good bike. We’re so impressed with this it’s immediately being elevated to one of our “Top Rated” bikes.

Cycle Specific Questions Q. I want a spinning bike with programs. What do you recommend? A. The Diamondback 910lc is an indoor cycle that has a good range of programs. The programs automatically change the resistance on the bike as you are pedalling based on the profile that you have selected. It's an unusual feature on an indoor training bike but it works really well on the Diamondback 910lc.
Q. Do I have to use the programs? A. No - you can use the bike in manual mode and control the resistance as you pedal.
Q. Can I use the bike as a spin bike? A. Yes - it's a fixed wheel, magnetic brake indoor cycle. You're guaranteed a good workout.
Q. Can I create my own program? A. Yes - you can create a profile to suit your own training needs.
Q. Can I monitor my heart rate on the console? A. Yes - in fact you can train to a target whereby the bike ensures that you don't exceed a definable heart rate. You need to wear a heart rate chest strap which are readily available for about £25.
Q. I want a bike that the family can use. What do you recommend? A. We recommend a bike with programs if you want a bike for all of the family. The programs will help to keep everyone interested and wanting to the use the bike. The seat and handlebars are easy to adjust so all of the family can use this bike in comfort.
Q. Can the seat be swapped for a normal bike seat? A. Yes. It's a standard bike seat fitting so you can attach a different seat if you want to.
Q. I'm over weight and want a bike to help me to get in shape - is this bike suitable? A. Yes. The maximum user weight on this bike is 140kg (approx 23). The programs will also help to ensure you burn off calories.
Q. Does the console show Watts? A. Yes. You can take a look at the manual in our downloads section for a full range of console features.
General Questions Q. Is this bike difficult to assemble? A. No - instructions are included and we cover the build in our review of the bike as well. Just pay particular attention to attaching the pedals correctly.
Q. Can you assemble the bike for me? A. Yes. We can deliver the bike fully assembled. We will pack/wrap the bike for transportation but can't accept liability for any damage that is caused whilst the bike is in transit. Alternatively, we can arrange for a technician to visit your home to build the bike for you at an additional cost (please ask for current prices).
Q. Do I need a mat underneath the bike? A. We recommend that you have a mat underneath your indoor cycle to protect the floor but it's entirely up to you.
Q. Do you sell second hand or refurbished bikes? A. Generally not. Unfortunately it's not cost effective for us to refurbish indoor cycles to a standard that would be in keeping with our reputation. To fully refurbish an indoor cycle, the crank; crank arms; flywheel bearings; drive belt; pedals; seat and handlebars all need to be replaced. In addition, the frame needs to be checked for corrosion and distortion. In doing this work to the correct standard, the price of a fully refurbished indoor bike would be about the same as a new one. It's for this reason that we don't normally offer refurbished or second hand bikes for sale, and we strongly recommend that you fully understand how a bike has been refurbished before buying one.
