Our Review of the Sole Fitness SB700 Indoor CycleHow Easy is the Indoor Cycle to Build? This is an easy bike to assemble - the quality of the components is fantastic and everything slots together very nicely. What are the first impressions? This is a truly fantastic indoor bike. It just feels bullet proof - it's so sturdy and everything about it shouts quality. Here are some of the things that we especially like: - Has a gym quality feel - it's more robust that many full commercial indoor cycles that we've tried - This indoor bike has the best manufacturers warranty for any indoor cycle in the UK - it has lifetime on frame and parts which is unbeatable - Console is wireless, so there are no trailing cables or connectors (the set up note above relates to the transmitter and not the console) - Both seat and handlebars can be adjusted horizontally and vertically so that you can achieve your perfect cycling position - The adjusters on the seat and handlebar are very heavy duty - The 22kg flywheel gives a really smooth ride - It's incredibly quiet - the SB700 is belt driven - Pedals can take cycling shoes or normal training shoes - Maximum user weight is nearly 19st which is very high for an indoor cycle - Paintwork is finished to a very high standard which gives a great first impressionWhat's it like to ride? The Sole Fitness SB700 indoor cycle is one of the best indoor bikes that we've ridden. Here's why: - It feels just like a full commercial bike with very little frame flex at high speed - Don't be put off by the friction brake mechanism - it's highly adjustable and you don't need to replace the pad very often - Incredibly quiet and smooth - Emergency stop is a great feature if you need to stop pedalling in a hurry. It's also very accessable and easy to useAny niggles? None - if you want gym quality at a home use price, then look no further.Anything else to add? This is an indoor cycle that's very easy to live with. There's no routine maintenance, other than keeping the bike clean. If the drive belt needs adjusting then it's very easy to do but it's something that you won't need to do very often.Overall Impression? This is the best home use, friction brake indoor cycle that we've seen. The build quality is exceptional and if you're looking for a bike for home that has the feel of the ones you've used at the gym, then this is the bike for you. The fact that it also has a lifetime warranty on frame and parts should tell you everything that you need to know.
Do you have a question about the Sole Fitness SB700 Indoor Cycle?
If you can't find the answer that you're looking for below then please click here and ask us a question. If we're online we'll give you an answer immediately, otherwise we'll try our best to respond on the same working day.
Cycle Specific Questions Q. What the minimum/maximum recommended user height for this bike? A. This indoor cycle can be used by anyone from 5ft3 (160cm) to 6ft6 (198cm). This is because the position of the seat and handlebars can be adjusted horizontally and vertically, so most people can find a comfortable position.
Q. Can the seat be swapped for a normal bike seat? A. Yes. It's a standard bike seat fitting so you can attach a different seat if you want to.
Q. I want to do up to about 1 hour spinning per day. Is this bike suitable? A. Yes - this bike will easily cope with 1 hour usage per day
Q. I'm 18st - is this bike suitable? A. Yes. The maximum user weight on this bike is 136kg (over 21st).
Q. Do the pedals take SPD cleats? A. Yes. You can use this bike with cycling shoes.
General Questions Q. Is this bike difficult to assemble? A. No - instructions are included and we cover the build in our review of the bike as well. Just pay particular attention to attaching the pedals correctly.
Q. Can you assemble the bike for me? A. Yes. We can deliver the bike fully assembled. We will pack/wrap the bike for transportation but can't accept liability for any damage that is caused whilst the bike is in transit. Alternatively, we can arrange for a technician to visit your home to build the bike for you at an additional cost (please ask for current prices).
Q. Do I need a mat underneath the bike? A. We recommend that you have a mat underneath your indoor cycle to protect the floor but it's entirely up to you.
Q. Do you sell second hand or refurbished bikes? A. Generally not. Unfortunately it's not cost effective for us to refurbish indoor cycles to a standard that would be in keeping with our reputation. To fully refurbish an indoor cycle, the crank; crank arms; flywheel bearings; drive belt; pedals; seat and handlebars all need to be replaced. In addition, the frame needs to be checked for corrosion and distortion. In doing this work to the correct standard, the price of a fully refurbished indoor bike would be about the same as a new one. It's for this reason that we don't normally offer refurbished or second hand bikes for sale, and we strongly recommend that you fully understand how a bike has been refurbished before buying one.

Our Reply: Thanks for your comments Paul - it's a great bike too.
Worth the money Really well built bike, no flexing. Easy to adjust saddle & handlebar heights plus the all important fore and aft of saddle & handlebars mean that perfect fit. The bike drives the flywheel via a belt and therefore very quiet in use compared to a normal chain driven flywheel or air turbine. (07/02/2014) -

You get what you pay for! This bike runs like a dream. It's virtually silent save for the sound of the flywheel swishing through the air. The resistance lever is uber sensitive so you only need a small turn to make a big difference. It's stable and a joy to use. A big plus is the care Andy takes of his customers - thanks. (28/06/2013) Phil - Lincoln
