Our Review of the BH Fitness Spada Dual 2 Indoor CycleHow Easy is the Indoor Cycle to Build? The BH Fitness Spada Dual 2 is very simple to build. All of the components fitted together very well with all holes perfectly aligned to accept the fixing bolts. You might need a helper, simply because of the weight of this cycle. What are the first impressions? The Spada looks like a great bike - stylish looks, water bottle holder and SPD pedals make for a superb looking bike. What's it like to ride? The BH Fitness Spada Dual is very smooth, largely due to the 20kg flywheel and belt drive. The programmes on the standard console keep training interesting and will change the resistance for you depending on the training profile that you choose. You can also just select manual mode and change the resistance when you want to. We'll discuss the SmartPhone/Tablet connectivity elsewhere in this review. When pedalling quickly the Spada Dual remains very stable which is a really good sign of a high quality bike.Any niggles? Because of the design of the handlebars you don't get as many hand grip positions as with other bikes. Also, when you're out of your seat and really gripping the handlebars they do move a little more than we'd have liked.Anything else to add? A nice feature of this bike is the pedals which can be used with cycling shoes or normal training shoes.Using Your SmartPhone/Tablet as a Console The feature on this indoor cycle that really differentiates it from other indoor cycles is that you can use your SmartPhone or Tablet as a console (check the compatabiliy of your device to ensure that it will work with the bike). It's really easy to connect your device (we used an iPhone with Bluetooth V4) and once connected you have the power of whatever apps you've downloaded to training with. At the time of writing this review there are a number of apps already available with the promise of more to come - again check details of the current apps and devices that are supported. We chose one of the simpler apps to test out the bike (called Pedal Monitor) and it worked really well - it's easy to think of this as a bit of a gimmick but it really does help to keep training interesting. Depending on the app that you've chosen the resistance level on the bike will change automatically, as it would with a traditional programmable console. It's worth noting that a number of the apps that are compatable with this indoor cycle require a monthly subscription - prices do vary but it's still cheaper than monthly gym membership. (Please note that the pricing of apps and any subsequent subscription charges are nothing to do with us!!)Overall Impression? Superb indoor cycle. The Spada Dual is packed with great features and the build quality is excellent.

Cycle Specific Questions Q. I want a spinning bike with programs. What do you recommend? A. The BH Fitness Spada Dual is an indoor cycle that has a good range of programs. The programs automatically change the resistance on the bike as you are pedalling based on the profile that you have selected.
Q. Do I have to use the programs? A. No - you can use the bike in manual mode and control the resistance as you pedal.
Q. Can I create my own program? A. Yes - you can create a profile to suit your own training needs.
Q. I want a bike that the family can use. What do you recommend? A. We recommend a bike with programs if you want a bike for all of the family. The programs will help to keep everyone interested and wanting to the use the bike. Take a look at the BH Fitness Spada CSG which is a good indoor cycle with programs.
Q. Does the bike need to be plugged in to the mains when in use? A. Yes. The bike needs to be plugged in to power the console.
Q. Can the seat be swapped for a normal bike seat? A. Yes. It's a standard bike seat fitting so you can attach a different seat if you want to.
Q. I'm 19st - is this bike suitable? A. Yes. The maximum user weight on this bike is 130kg (approx 20.4st).
Q. Does the console show Watts? A. Yes. You can take a look at the manual in our downloads section for a full range of console features.
Q. Do the pedals take SPD cleats? A. Yes. You can use this bike with cycling shoes.
General Questions Q. Is this bike difficult to assemble? A. No - instructions are included and we cover the build in our review of the bike as well. Just pay particular attention to attaching the pedals correctly.
Q. Can you assemble the bike for me? A. Yes. We can deliver the bike fully assembled. We will pack/wrap the bike for transportation but can't accept liability for any damage that is caused whilst the bike is in transit. Alternatively, we can arrange for a technician to visit your home to build the bike for you at an additional cost (please ask for current prices).
Q. Do I need a mat underneath the bike? A. We recommend that you have a mat underneath your indoor cycle to protect the floor but it's entirely up to you.
Q. Do you sell second hand or refurbished bikes? A. Generally not. Unfortunately it's not cost effective for us to refurbish indoor cycles to a standard that would be in keeping with our reputation. To fully refurbish an indoor cycle, the crank; crank arms; flywheel bearings; drive belt; pedals; seat and handlebars all need to be replaced. In addition, the frame needs to be checked for corrosion and distortion. In doing this work to the correct standard, the price of a fully refurbished indoor bike would be about the same as a new one. It's for this reason that we don't normally offer refurbished or second hand bikes for sale, and we strongly recommend that you fully understand how a bike has been refurbished before buying one.
Here are the customer reviews of the BH Fitness Spada Dual 2 Indoor Cycle
Great bike and good customer service Bought Spada 2 based on good reviews for Spada 1 and not disappointed. Excellent variety of programmes, saved user profiles, easy to build, very quiet, but check the correct plug is there to avoid an instant spoiler. Also, at 6'3 I think I'm on the limit for the bike, for my preferred leg extension (28/04/2017) Rob - Cambs
